Job Responsibilities

  • Work side by side with Senior Traders to manage the desk’s trading book
  • Learn to utilize proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support the divisions established business
  • Assist Senior Traders in the execution of real-time risk management in the form of trade entry and risk layoffs
  • Participate in the enhancement of the desks trading models
  • Enhance existing trades and identify new opportunities
  • Liaise between trading group, internal company departments, and OTC relationships on both trading and operational matters

Cryptocurrency Analyst

DV Trading, LLC is seeking a Cryptocurrency Analyst for our Chicago office. The analyst will research new cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, build models to determine the ROI of various mining initiatives and trading strategies. We’re developing technologies that will become industry standard, and we want you to help us. Daily responsibilities will include writing, reading, and analyzing. There will be lots of room to grow.


Responsibilities:

  • Research new crypto currencies and blockchain technologies
  • Monitor trading and mining applications
  • Perform due diligence on investment opportunities
  • Research, analyze, and present information and actionable recommendations for Executive Management, Business Units, IT, and Operations about blockchain in the financial services industry, focusing on potential opportunities and risks to the company
  • Work with the Team Leader and representatives from the Company’s Business Units, IT, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of research efforts with their needs and objectives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of projects undertaken by the Company, tracking and reporting to the Team Leader on their progress against objectives and issues that may arise

Your background includes analytical work: taking a problem, breaking it down into component parts, giving them numbers, and building them back up again. You’re no stranger to data.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance and or Computer Science
  • Knowledge of Python, Javascript, and/or R
  • Experience with Linux and command line interfaces
  • An understanding of blockchain technology
  • A good writer. At minimum, you write with no grammatical errors, your phrasing isn’t awkward, and you are conscious of jargon. Our audience is educated but not all are crypto-insiders.
  • A critical thinker. Research projects move quickly. For many of them, you’ll be deeper in the content than we might be. You’ll need to think through the implications of your findings—but also be open to asking questions in the search for the right answer.
  • Able to operate independently. We’re a lean team of people who learn on their own and from each other. You’ll be part of it. There will be plenty of support, but you’ll also need to make decisions as you research and write.

Quantitative Research Intern

This position is for a quantitative researcher who will work directly with a senior-level trader. You will leverage the firm’s historical data environment to assemble and analyze historical market data. This individual will have the opportunity to learn the dynamics of US interest rate markets, and merge this understanding with quantitative modeling skill-sets.

REQUIREMENTS

What our Quantitative Research Interns do:

  • Work with a senior trader to become familiarized with the structure of US interest rate markets
  • Clean and manipulate large historical datasets using the firm’s R environment
